We’ve heard a lot about Trump’s wall proposal in the weeks, sorry, years gone by.
But the details of the wall have shifted quite a bit, as explained Seth Meyers in his “A Closer Look” segment, tracing the origins of Trump’s policy promise.
Featuring a short Andy Samberg cameo, Meyers lays out the confusion over what the wall would be built with, how much it would cost, if Mexico was going to pay for it, and whether if it had to be actually called a wall. All of this, for something Trump probably wasn’t looking to build.
“We’re in a self-inflicted political crisis right now because Trump made up something dumb, didn’t think it through, and backed himself into a corner,” Meyers said. “He had two years of total Republican control, to get it done, and he didn’t.”
